Life on campus

Accommodation at Worcester

Living in Halls is a great way to experience university life. We have over 1,000 rooms available, gathered together in lively student communities right in the heart of our campuses. All international students are guaranteed university managed accommodation, as long as you apply before the end of August.

All rooms are single occupancy, fully furnished and – in newer halls – there are en suite rooms, secure video entry and flat screen TVs too. We’ve also got bespoke accommodation available for disabled students. Whatever your needs and budget, you are sure to find somewhere you’ll feel right at home.

What are the options?

Choose from several types of high quality accommodation, much of it recently built or renovated. We have halls of residence at both our St John’s and City campuses, as well as University-managed halls of residence in the heart of the city centre and near to St John’s. Our accommodation team can also help you find off-campus accommodation through a network of landlords all licensed by Worcester City Council.

En-suite Extra

Setting a new high standard in student living, these brand new Halls include 182 en-suite extra rooms. All have large, shared kitchen and dining areas, while the study bedrooms are light, airy, spacious and fully furnished in a contemporary style and you'll find flat screen TVs in the communal areas. Built in September 2009 these halls offer the highest standards of student accommodation.

En-suite

Want your own bathroom? This is a great choice. Our two St John's en-suite halls each include six flats over three floors, with six or seven study bedrooms per flat. Each room has an en suite bathroom with washbasin, shower and toilet. Four rooms are adapted for wheelchair use.

Standard plus

There are 252 rooms available, spread across the above halls. Each of the St John's standard plus halls has four or six flats over two or three floors, with six study bedrooms. There are two toilet/ shower rooms per flat and each bedroom has a washbasin.

Standard

Together Avon and Ledbury standard halls have 34 flats over three floors, each containing four or six study bedrooms. Each flat has a shared kitchen and a lounge area. There's a bathroom, shower room with toilet and another toilet in each flat.

Traditional

A brilliant option if you want to keep costs down, our traditional halls offer a total of 62 rooms, 56 of which are single study and 6 of which have a shared study area. Shared study rooms are always allocated to students of the same sex. The majority of rooms have a washbasin, and approximately 8-10 students share a kitchen, two bathrooms and toilet facilities.

Postgraduate

Our postgraduate accommodation consists of one six-bedroom house (Oldbury House), three five-bedroom houses and one three-bedroom house, situated adjacent to the St John's Campus. There is one en suite room per property, and off road parking is available at Fern Hall at an additional cost. The location of all of these properties allow residents to take full advantage of the University's facilities.

How much does accommodation cost?
